Materials and Techniques used by Jihad

Jihad is a self-taught artist whose sophisticated approach to beading comes from extensive research into similar techniques across various cultures, including Russia, North America, Africa, and Indigenous cultures. She continuously refined her skills until she developed her own unique style.

Stiching and types of stiches is the base for the work. For Palestinian beading patterns, she employs techniques similar to a loom work.

Jihad primarily uses high-quality glass beads and fishing threads coated with a thin layer of wax for her beading projects. In addition she uses sea shells and semi precious stones to add variations and interest. Occasionally, she also incorporates antique pieces of silver into her designs.
